The purpose of the project is to connect the existing telecommunications network. With the aim of interconnection by means of new technologies, Sant Boi de Llobregat City Council wanted to complete the connection of its telecommunications network with the construction of civil works.
The execution of the works, for the Project for the connection of the telecommunications network in the town of Sant Boi de Llobregat, began on 1 February and was completed on 29 March 2019.
The project works were divided into two phases that were carried out at the same time.
At the start of the works, two collection points were set up, one for each phase of the project, designated by the Sant Boi de Llobregat town council in the Ronda de Sant Ramon.
The first phase (Phase 1) comprises part of the Ronda de Sant Ramon, from the junction with Carrer de Jordi Rubió i Balaguer to the junction with Avinguda de l’Onze de Septembre, and Avinguda Aragón linking up with Carrer de la Riera de Fonollar.
To carry out the first phase of the project, 20 test or repair boreholes were drilled along the route to avoid problems with other services that could be affected by the route of the new telecommunications network. This was followed by the piping works (trench and installation of 125mm sub-conductor pipes) with a total of 1,422 metres of piping to roads and 792 metres of piping to pavements, the subsequent replacement of pavements and roads, the installation of 27 new manholes and the installation of 8 new manholes to 8 existing manholes.
The second phase (Phase 2) includes part of the Ronda de Sant Ramon, from the junction with Carrer de Jordi Rubió i Balaguer to the junction with Carrer de Lluis Companys.
To carry out the second phase of the project, 18 test or repair boreholes were drilled along the route to avoid problems with other services that could be affected by the route of the new telecommunications network. Next, the channelling works were carried out (trench and installation of 125mm pipes) with a total of 1,322 metres of channelling to roads and 377 metres of channelling to pavements, the subsequent replacement of pavements and roads, the installation of 18 new manholes and the installation of 12 new manholes to 12 existing manholes.
