Executive project for the construction of a fibre optic network to the home for the town of Platja d’Aro, Spain

Location: Platja d’Aro, Spain

Number of inhabitants of the village/area: +11000 inhabitants

Date: 2017

Client: Fibra 365

Project summary: The technicalisation of daily activities and the development of information and communication technologies mean that the demand for broadband services is growing almost exponentially. The aim of the project is to improve the existing infrastructure, which currently consists of copper cable, by deploying a fibre optic network based on FTTH architecture that significantly improves the connections of the inhabitants of Platja d’Aro.

A Fibre to the Home (FTTH) access solution was designed, planned and offered that enables the transparent distribution of triple play voice, data and video services to single-family homes, blocks of flats and businesses for the creation of an FTTH network. From this point, the different 96 fibre optic cables are distributed to the distribution boxes and access boxes, from where the different connections are made to each customer.
